Tin Mill
Tin Mill products are primarily used in the metal packaging industry
Tin mill steel products are characterised by their low thickness and are made from cold rolled carbon steel. They are found in three main variations: coated with tin, chrome, or uncoated.
Our large Inventory of Tin Mill products are sourced from BIS approved mills Tata, JSW and available in thicknesses ranging from 0.13-0.50mm and widths up to 1225mm. This material is available in single reduced (T1-T5), or double reduced (DR7-DR9). We Supply in the form of Coils, Sheets, Slit Coils and can also provide value-added services of Coated, Lacquered and Printed Sheets from our strong network of vendors.
With our strong International Network, we have been exporting to customers in UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Italy, Sri Lanka and Nigeria.
Tinplate, often referred to as “the steel with a heart of tin,” is a remarkable material. It consists of thin carbon steel sheets or coils, coated with tin on both sides using an electrolytic process. It possesses excellent strength and malleability, thanks to the underlying steel, and also offers corrosion resistance due to the tin coating. The smooth surface finish enhances its printability and weldability, all while providing an attractive appearance. Over time, tinplate has gained wide acceptance in various packaging applications due to its appealing aesthetics, lightweight nature, affordability, ease of use, exceptional formability, recyclability and availability in various options.
Tin-Free Steel (TFS), also known as Electrolytic Chromium Coated Steel, is similar to Tinplate, a thin sheet of cold-rolled carbon steel that is coated with Chromium. It is used as an economical alternative to Tinplate and has a more dull and matte finish. Its fundamental characteristics prevent it from being used in applications where welding and soldering are not required, but works excellently with organic lacquer adhesion.
Tin Mill Blackplate (TMBP) is thin annealed Cold Rolled (CR) steel that is reduced through a cold mill to the desired thickness. This is also the base plate for Tinplate and TFS, and is used for various special end uses that do not require corrosion resistance properties, but require malleability.
